Black Infant Health Program

BIH targets African-American women of child-bearing age to empower them and facilitate prenatal care access, parenting counseling, and Social Support and Empowerment seminars to help them become more self-aware, and improve the survival rate for them and their infants.

Healthy Families/Medi-Cal for Children

The Heatlhy Families/Medi-Cal for Children program seeks to address the issue of disparate access to health insurance for low to middle income families and their children.

California Diabetes and Pregnancy Program


We are also an affiliate of the California Diabetes and Pregnancy Program which provides training and tracking of women who develop Gestational Diabetes during their pregnancy. Our Planning Accesss Care adn Treatment Program provides family planning options, screening for sexually transmitted diseases, etc. and assists our patients with these needs after their postpartum visit. MCCN also links our newborns with the Immunization Program at their first newborn visit with the pediatrician. This helps to ensure that newborns receive the first immunizations on time and begins the necessary tracking.

Prenatal Services Physical examinations and monitoring is provided as well as information and support that promotes proper diet, exercise, and emotional well-being.

Immunizations Inoculations are provided for the prevention of childhood disease and the flu.

Nutrition Services Nutrition counseling is available for patients with chronic diseases and to prenatal patients at risk for malnutrition, gestational diabetes, and anemia.

HIV/AIDS Preventions Education provided on how to prevent the transmission of HIV/AIDS.

Mental Health Services Assessments are available by Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists for emotional disorders and psychological needs, with referrals to appropriate therapeutic services.

Residential Facilities/School Based Clinics Medical and some mental health services provided on site at various residential facilities for youth and in local Los Angeles Unified Schools.
