Immunizations
Immunizations are
vaccines given to
children usually via
injection to help
protect them from
diseases.
There is a
standard immunization
schedule for all
children but there could
be certain vaccines
recommended for certain
populations so it is
important to consult
with your child’s
pediatrician to see
which immunizations they
need.
Getting your child
immunized does not mean
he or she is 100%
protected but in 85%-95%
of the cases patients
will develop immunity.

Disaster
Preparedness Workshop
Work Group
The time to
plan for a disaster is
before it strikes.
Emergency preparedness
and recovery planning is
essential for survival.
Community health
centers are uniquely
positioned to meet the
medical needs of their
communities in disaster
situations. They can
provide care in
difficult circumstances
to precisely those most
vulnerable to a natural
disaster including the
elderly, disabled,
chronically ill, and
those who lack the
resources or
transportation to leave
the affected area.
The Disaster
Preparedness Work Group
is comprised of
representatives from
member clinics of the
Community Clinic
Association of Los
Angeles County (CCALAC)
who have an interest in
developing an
L.A.
approach to disaster
planning. The work group
works in cooperation
with the L.A. County
HRSA, CDC Committees and
the California Primary
Care Association.
Representatives meet
once a month to discuss
and plan activities that
will enable clinics like
MCCN to be prepare to
meet the needs of its
employees, patients and
community members in the
event of a disaster
situation.
