What is Healthy Families Program?

Need low cost or Free health insurance for your children?
Inquire about the Healthy Families & Medi-Cal for Children Program!
The Healthy Families Program is low cost insurance that provides health, dental and vision coverage to families who do not have insurance today and do not qualify for no-cost Medi-Cal. The Healthy Families Program is designed to address the need to offer insurance to families who can not otherwise afford insurance via other means.  The program seeks to diminish the number of uninsured children among the legal residents in the state.

Who can help me fill out the application?

If you need help to complete the applicatin, MCCN can assist in completing this application. Please call 818-895-3100 to talk to our Certified Application Assistant (CAA) 8 a.m. to 6 p.m, Monday through Friday. These CAAs can help you fill out the application at no cost to you.

Who may qualify?

  • Children up to their 19th birthday.
  • Parents, stepparents, legal guardians, and caretaker relatives who live with a child who is enrolled in Healthy Families, no-cost Medi-Cal, or who has two months of accelerated Medi-Cal Coverge. For any child of group of siblings, only one caretaker relative or legal guardian may be eligible.
  • Children in families with incomes at or below 250% of the Federal Income Guidelines.
  • Parents, stepparents, legal guardians, and caretaker relatives with children in Healthy Families or no-cost Mdi-Cal and who have incomes between 100% to 200% of the Federal Income Guidelines.
  • Families or persons in the family without employer-sponsored health insurance in the last 3 months.
  • Families or persons in a family who are not eligible for no-cost medi-Cal.
  • Parents, stepparents, legal guardians, caretaker relatives, and children who are U.S. citizens, nationals, or eligible qualified immigrants.
  • Families living in California
